What is a six year break down/tear down?
NFPA 10, requires all stored pressure fire extinguishers to be serviced and recharged every six years. This maintenance must be completed by a certified fire extinguisher service provider. Below is a step-by-step breakdown of the 6-Year fire extinguisher maintenance process:
- One of our certified technicians will come to your location and perform an annual inspection on all fire extinguishers.
- We will then discharge the fire extinguisher and replace the valve stem and o-rings to prevent the possibilty of leaks.
- To ensure that there are no leaks we will test the fire extinguisher with a solution that will make them visible.
- Once the break down is complete we will then add our certification sticker and tag.
