A report coming from the Glendale Fire Department confirmed a fire incident at a townhome complex located in block 500 of West California Avenue around 9:40 a.m. on a Sunday morning. Not less than five cars were destroyed in the fire outbreak. Anita Shanda a spoke person for the fire departed confirmed the sight of a thick smoke evolving from the building on the arrival of firefighters.
According to Shandi, the fire started from the carport and later spread to the townhome units above the damaging floor. The damage had already spread across the walls of at least two homes and a gas line before firefighter could bring the fire to a halt. The destruction of the pipeline leads to a significant leakage, which was contained in time.
However, no injury was recorded because of the success in the evacuation of the resident of the townhome before any harm could come to them. With the help of firefighters from Burbank and Pasadena, the fire was extinguished successfully at exactly 11:15 a.m.
Investigations are ongoing to find the exact cause of the fire.
