Aircraft Hanger Fire Suppression

Aircraft Hanger Fire Suppression

Airports house equipment that can cost upward of 10’s of millions of dollars. Military installations have aircraft that cost even more which is why aircraft hangar fire suppression systems are very important to facility operations. Aircraft hangers not only carry the physical aerospace equipment but also dangerous fuel and chemical substances that need specialized systems to extinguish during a fire event. We also offer fire suppression systems for the aircraft themselves so that aircraft and pilots are safer when operating aerospace equipment.

Kord Fire Protection for aircraft hangars follow NFPA 409 “Standard on Aircraft Hangars” in the majority of cities. Most of the regulations across the United States follow this code. For military installations our fire engineers follow U.S. Air Force ETL 02-15 for Air Force and Army facilities and UFC 4-211-01N for Navy and Marine facilities. National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 409 is followed with any other variable when no specific code exists.
